It’s been another quiet day. Xander has been at school, Gareth has been at work while I have been at home cleaning and watching Youtube.
But we have decided we want to eat healthier than we do… Now we are much better than we use to be back in 2012 when we were surviving off of Burger King and we are better than 2013 and 2014 when we weren’t really eating healthy stuff….
Probably since our trip to England in 2015… Even though we were on holiday and were eating a lot of food…. We went out to a lot of restaurants and had a lot of home cooked meals which made up for it… In a sense.
At the beginning of this year we were buying our fruits and veges from the fresh fruit and vegetable shops local in our community… Which was amazing and we enjoyed it…
But when we hit winter they closed their shop doors earlier meaning Gareth couldn’t go in after work to pick up the delicious fruits and veges we were loving.
I miss eating plums, peaches, fresh lettuce, onions and all the rest… When you buy from a supermarket they just don’t taste as… fresh.
So we are going to start making meals and freezing them (we have already bought the things to make several lasagnas so that is our first job this weekend) because when Gareth is on call we never have dinner sorted and sometimes have to get pizzas or takeaways… So this is going to be a lovely change.
I also want to start getting confident in the kitchen and make things I love… Like chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork. So hopefully this will help me get motivated in the kitchen again.
Apart from that we have been having a quiet week. It’s my dad’s birthday tomorrow so I’m going to write a little something up about the old coot.
